The Bosphorus Boat Show 2024 (Indoor) Fair, recently concluded, is not just a significant milestone in the maritime industry, but a testament to the collective effort and commitment of our community. Organized for the first time under the leadership of the current board, this event has been a long-anticipated vision brought to life, reflecting our shared commitment to excellence and innovation in the field.

Historically, industry companies have showcased their finest yachts, boats, RIB boats, marine vehicles related to water sports, accessories, and many other products under the guidance of DENTUR/YATED, a leading non-governmental organisation in the sector. These companies have collaborated with professional fair organisers to ensure a structured and cohesive presentation of their products, alongside efforts to secure reasonable participation fees for exhibitors.

The fair’s journey to realisation faced challenges, particularly during the pandemic, characterised by restrictions and economic downturns. A notable dispute between YATED management and CNR Fuarcılık led to the dissolution of their partnership through legal channels. In response, the sector association took a bold step by deciding to organise its fair, hence the birth of the Bosphorus Boat Show 2024 (Indoor), facilitated by a dedicated organisational committee.

From February 17th to 24th, 2024, this inaugural event was hosted in eight halls, covering a gross area of 100,000 square meters, with a net exhibition space of 46,000 square meters. It featured an impressive lineup of motor yachts up to 25 meters, sailboats up to 20 meters, medium and small-size fibre boats from various brands, RIB boats, marine engines, accessories, and entities from water sports, sea tourism, marinas, and non-governmental organisations.

The fair welcomed over 250 local and international exhibitors, showcasing more than 500 yachts, boats, and vessels. The event attracted an estimated 30,000 visitors in its first five days alone. Despite the challenging economic environment, with inflation hovering around 75%, fluctuating foreign exchange rates, and bank time deposit interest rates at about 50%, the sales performance has been notably encouraging, offering a morale boost to the industry.

The Bosphorus Boat Show 2024 (Indoor) Fair is more than just an event. It’s a symbol of the resilience and innovation that define our maritime sector. Despite the economic challenges, it stood strong, offering a vibrant platform for showcasing the latest in maritime technology and design. It’s a testament to our industry’s unwavering commitment to excellence, even in the face of adversity.
