Veda Pretorius is a seasoned strategic consultant with over 20 years of experience in the recreational marine industry. Her expertise spans marketing, communications, stakeholder management, conference production, organisational design, and business advisory services.

Pretorius serves as Executive Manager of IFBSO (International Federation of Boat Show Organisers), supporting the global network of boat show professionals and advancing international collaboration across the industry. As founder of Superyacht Cape Town and Chairperson of the African Superyacht Working Group, she is at the forefront of efforts to position Cape Town — and Africa more broadly — on the global superyacht map. She is also the founder of the African Boating Conference, a platform shaped to connect local opportunity with global expertise and to advance regional cooperation across Africa’s recreational boating sector.

Earlier in her career, Pretorius held esteemed roles such as Managing Director of the South African Boatbuilding Export Council (SABBEX) and CEO of the Cape Town Boatbuilding Initiative (CTBi), building a strong foundation in industry leadership and development across the African marine sector.
